The countdown to Erin and James’ wedding is on! With just two weeks to go, they began the celebration with a Hucks weekend with friends, rounded out with a Love & Lunch with family. We have been busy sewing and this event called for a stunning new outfit.
Fabric: Lace from Darn Cheap Fabrics
We had been looking for a selection of materials for various wedding events for several months. Some fabrics we purchased, as we knew they were going to play a part in the celebrations. When we saw this beautiful embroidered lace at Darn Cheap Fabrics, we wanted it to be part of this wedding lineup.
As the fabric is slightly sheer, we lined it with a light cotton lining from Spotlight Stores.
Pattern:
We made this Vogue set that has been on our make list since the pattern was released. We modified the pattern to add a zipper down the back rather than ties and swapped out the self-made neck bias and ties for satin bias, as the lace is rather thick and embroidered, so we decided on the smooth, clean contrast finish instead.
Vogue 2096 is a semi fitted, lined top with darts into the check that is finished with visible bias neckband. It is paired with a fitted, lined skirt that has decorative ties, side front slit, waist darts and invisible back zipper.
