We were guests at a friend’s wedding in the Yarra Valley, where we loved creating new dresses for the occasion. The dress code for the wedding was formal, which we love creating for.
Erin created her dress with a mash-up of patterns and adapted the neckline to create a self-drafted look with a draped georgette panel with matching satin from The Maker Society.
Pattern: Simplicity 3066
For Lauren’s dress, we used Simplicity 3066, a long, lined dress with a close-fitting bodice featuring a deep V-neckline, bow detail, and an invisible back zipper. The skirt has pleats at the waist and side seam pockets.
We created some variation, swapping the sheer mesh centre front panel to be the matching fabric and added some additional bows onto the front.
We used a jacquard from Darn Cheap Fabrics for this dress.
