This year, we went for a bit of practical comfort with pants for both our Derby Day outfits. The theme of the day at Flemington is black and white, so we keep an eye out for fabrics in natural fibres that fit this brief.
Erin found some inspriation for a pant set with peplum top and began about sourcing the material and bringing together some of her favourite patterns.
Patterns: Butterick 6556 and Vogue 9258
This outfit combined the bodice of Butterick 6556 with a gathered peplum at the waist. We like the fit of this bodice, and it has a great square neckline that does not require a strapless bra.
For the pants, we have a number of sets using Vogue 9258, so we knew we liked the line of the pants and they had an elastic waist for comfort.
