Ema Dress by Schultz Apparel

Welcome to the Ema from Schultz Apparel! You might have seen us speak about the clever design choices from this pattern brand before; many of her patterns do not require fastenings. This makes them a great choice for all makers and those looking to build their skills.

Pattern: Ema Dress

The Ema dress pattern is a shift dress inspired by the iconic 60s look.  The main body of the dress features bust darts with a cute boat neckline.  The mini length hem includes the option for a straight through look or a ruffled hem.

To finish the inside the pattern suggests creating it fully lined. There is no difficult closure, as the dress can be pulled over the head.

Choose from the three back styles: a semi-deep coop back, a deep V at the back, a cute 60s bow or a beautiful curved low back.

Fabric

This pattern calls for a light to medium-weight woven fabric in a cotton, linen, wool blend or viscose.  And for the lining a lightweight woven in cotton, viscose or polyester.

From our stash, we selected this checked fabric to create the ruffled look.  We knew it would create a fun effect with the gathering of the checks and show the fullness.
