Sew Melbourne Garden Party

The Melbourne weather didn’t stop the sewing merriment at the Sew Melbourne Garden Party today! 🌼 It was so lovely to see so many familiar faces and meet new sewing friends!  Thank you to Libby and Abby for all of your work organising the event.

The theme of the day of the day was matching sets. Last year, Lauren wore a wide-leg pant set, and we loved how easy it was to enjoy the day.

McCall’s 8161 with McCall’s 8221

Lauren created a matching set using McCall’s 8161 (previously m7542) top pattern with a puff sleeve with McCall’s 8221.  The fabric was a printed cotton drill that she got at Sacres coupons in Paris

Vogue 9258 in fabric from ZigZag Sewing

Last year, when Erin visited Newcastle Frocktails, she visited ZigZag Sewing and found this fabulous printed cotton.  It has been sitting in our stash waiting for the right moment, and the garden party was it!  Being a gradient print, it was important to showcase the print and this Vogue set was the perfect pattern for it.
